Our dance classes require a full-season commitment from Sept. through mid-June. Students will learn a routine to be performed at the end of the season in our annual recital. The recital has a mandatory dress rehearsal along with one (or two) recital dates. Classes will require practice dress code attire, a recital costume & a recital makeup purchase.

2 - 3 years | Dance

Creative Movement

(2 - 3 years) Co-Ed 30-minutes - $42.15/month

Creative Movement classes at Cutting Edge are designed for children 2-3 years old. The classes will focus on the fundamentals of ballet, learning to count music, following directions and gaining confidence. Creative Movement gives children opportunities to explore movement while interacting with other dancers in a positive classroom setting.

*Dancers must be potty trained for this class.

4 - 6 years | Dance

Hip Hop

(4 - 6 years) Co-Ed 45-minutes - $63.22/month

Hip-Hop has a wide range of dance styles; usually performed to upbeat, current music. This is more of a social dance style rather than technical. It allows the student to learn fun, fast-paced movements in a style sometimes called "street dancing."

We recommend taking jazz in addition to the hip hop class to help enhance technique.

Tap

(4 - 6 years) Co-Ed 45-minutes - $63.22/month

Tap is a form of dance in which distinct sounds are created by using taps on the heels and toes of the dancer’s shoes. Students will learn tap terminology. Technique, musicality, rhythm, and coordination are all focused on in tap class. Tap can be choreographed to music or be performed acapella.

Pom

(4 - 6 years) Co-Ed 45-minutes - $63.22/month

Pom will prepare students for their high school and college dance teams. Students will work on pom precision combinations with jazz technique and strength training. Pom at CEA is a form of dance utilizing quick-paced choreography, paired with strong arm movements and technical skills. Dancers will perform using poms.

Ballet

(4 - 6 years) Co-Ed 45-minutes - $63.22/month

Ballet is a highly technical form of dance & the foundation of all dance forms. Our ballet program focuses on strength, poise & proper body alignment. Our ballet teachers are trained in the Cecchetti ballet method and Vaganova striving to help the students gain strength & alignment while using the correct & appropriate blocks to learning the fundamentals of ballet.

Tumbling for Dancers

Jazz dance has a large range of dance styles & genres that emphasize technique, turns, leaps & jumps. Some styles include traditional jazz, musical theatre jazz, and modern/contemporary jazz & jazz-funk. Jazz is another foundation of all forms of dance & is a recommended style to take in conjunction with ballet and lyrical.

These popular forms of dance are a fusion of ballet and jazz technique. Usually choreographed to tell a story and allows the students to express themselves through a variety of movement and emotion.

Adv. Ballet

(11 years & up) Co-Ed 75-minutes - $100.09/month
